Shaun Burgess is a British oil painter based in Suffolk. His work combines close observation with controlled abstraction, using broken edges, restrained marks and atmospheric colour to convey character, movement and presence. Horses—particularly Arabian horses—are central to his practice, while his wider work encompasses portraiture, military subjects and commemorative commissions.
His paintings are held in private collections across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and the Gulf, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2025, Burgess created two commemorative paintings for Howard Leedham MBE following In the Footsteps of Lawrence, a camelback expedition undertaken by five members of the Special Forces Club in support of its Benevolent Fund.
