Dubai World Cup 2024
At the end of March, the most glamorous and sophisticated event takes place in Dubai. This event is not just a day of elite horse racing; it’s a cultural phenomenon, blending the thrill of sport with unparalleled luxury and entertainment.
The closing ceremony of the event combined thousands M2 LED screens and augmented reality, accompanied by a choreographed ensemble of drones, planes, and pyrotechnics, offering an impressive 33-minute flight time for dynamic 3D sculptures in the sky. The show 2024 featured 4000 drones, the movements of which broke three Guinness World Records, and acrobatic motors gliders firing pyro, laser lights, and fireworks synchronized to an original soundtrack.
A highlight in the sporting and social calendar since 1996, the Dubai World Cup is considered one of the world’s most spectacular race days, where the total prize purse, which will feature six Group 1 and three Group 2 fixtures, is worth USD 30.5 million. The event's global appeal is underscored by coverage from over 40 international broadcasters, with more than 400 media accreditation applications highlighting its significance.
The ticketed event is also a major opportunity for people to be at their fashionable best; prizes of up to Dh200,000 are given to the most well-dressed.
Created through the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai World Cup provides a truly global stage upon which the best horses in the world come to compete every year.
